The season is getting into gear and it's time to go out and give your local DJ's a little love. Check out a little preview of the boys getting the Post Office Jumps back into shape for some epic sessioning in 2011!

For the past week or so, local and non local riders have come out to Post Office Jumps to maintain and change a few things around, as well as get them buffed for the upcoming Santa Cruz MTB Festival that is going down on April 9th and 10th. The jumps are getting some much needed love and everything will be dialed for the riders. Check out the photos below to see what's been going down!

Things are still a bit wet at the Post Office, but it is starting to look good again. Nothing some shovel work with some good friends can't fix!

The weather has been less than kind to the jumps lately, with some lakes popping up here and there. We've been using a pump to drain them - much faster than buckets.

The old wood booter was looking a bit worse for wear, but they soon realized that it would make a fun wallride as well when tipped on it's side. Recycling at the jumps!

Heads up! It is always important to be aware of flying hand tools while working at the jumps... you never know when a flying pick is going to come out of nowhere!

Spring is here and it is time to give your local trails some much needed attention - have you been out with the shovel yet?

What did happen with the rumor that the PO jump site was being sold and leveled?
Glad to see them keeping it alive!

flag suicidedownhiller (Mar 30, 2011 at 12:04)
Nope, it was definitely the post office people are thinking of, last sea otter they made a big deal about it, saying that it would be the last PO jam ever or something so the post office could have a parking lot or something...not sure what the reason was...But either way, It's always great to see a jump spot survive!

Been building all winter, and now just found out that some kids have been hacking away at the jumps with a spade, just when I wanted to ride!
  • + 16
flag spencer223 (Mar 30, 2011 at 11:58)
I hate those kinds of kids! Just because they can't jump, jumps 3x the size they are doesn't give them the right to tear out hard work down! If they want a little jump to roll over then they should break their back making their own jumps. Am I right?

i feel your pain, some less experienced riders have moved a ladder drop to make a 1ft jump out of.... im all for sharing but that takes the piss
  • + 1
flag RDickie (Mar 31, 2011 at 6:26)
Exactly, it's not like they don't have anywhere else to build, they just don't want to put the effort in and end up ruining it for the rest of us.
  • + 1
flag spencer223 (Mar 31, 2011 at 21:38)
We should start a facebook page about this and then the little kids would know that we're pissed, cause it would be facebook official....

flag freelifenride (Apr 1, 2011 at 6:41)
maybe.... probably too arrogant to notice it's actually them doing it tho... i may just be stereotyping them but its usually those kinds of people.
  • + 1
flag Jeromev (Apr 1, 2011 at 12:13)
It's probably easier to just build a smaller line for them to ride, this way they'll respect you and the rest of your trails. Trust me it's frustrating as hell but it's definitely better then continually rebuilding your shit. That's what we did at our trails, now I know all the little kids and they know not to f*ck with the trails.

Why would they need to level the PO jumps to build a boring old parking lot? LOL its called EMAIL people learn how to use it and leave the jumps alone!!

The trade-0ff is harsh. There will be snow until end of may on Bromont and St-Anne... Also, with the amount of snow we had this year, the ground is going to be really humid for a long time...
